BAYANIHAN STILL ALIVE IN THE CITY

In the spirit of good old bayanihan, the City of Koronadal will bring its services to every barangay starting February of this year through an activity dubbed as “Programang Bayanihan para sa Mamamayan”.
As explained by the City Mayor Peter B. Miguel, the concept is to make the city’s services accessible to the people in the barangay and that said proximity will establish closer ties and serve as a venue for community fellowship even just for a day.

Offices like the City Civil Registrar, City Environment and Natural Resources, City Engineering, City Veterinary, City Agriculture, City Social Welfare and Development, City Treasurer, City Population, City Assessor, City Health, City Nutrition, City Cooperative, City Comelec, BPLS, Franchising Section, City Information and the City Mayor’s Office will carry their own service portfolios and make the same available to the barangay constituents.

Although not a part of the regular services of the City Hall, libreng gupit and baid (free haircut and sharpening of tools) shall also be on the menu for the day.
Mayor Miguel said that this activity is a true replica of a one-stop-shop where the people could attend to their needs concerning the services of the city in just one place. This also provides no more excuses for those with obligations to the city in settling their accounts.

Mayor Miguel, through the City Administrator Edgardo Tabago, enjoined all barangay officials, through their barangay captains in one of their ABC Meetings, to actively support the activity by providing venue and helping out in encouraging their respective constituents to come on the scheduled day and avail of the services.
