PRO 12 TO TRANSFER IN KORONADAL

City Mayor Peter B. Miguel announces the possible transfer of Police Regional Office 12 to Koronadal City in a meeting with PNP Chief Director General Alan Purisima during the turn-over of command of the newly installed PRO 12 Regional Director C/Supt. Charles Turalba Calima. It has been noted that the Former President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo has declared the City of Koronadal as the regional political and socio-economic center of  SOCCSKSARGEN through an Executive Order no. 304.
The PNP Chief has pledged to transfer the regional office of  PNP in the city and personally asked Mayor PBM to help facilitate the said transfer particularly in looking for a land with an area of more or less 15 hectares where the new Police Regional Office will be constructed.
According to Mayor Miguel, the transfer is a manifestation of the agency’s confidence in the city more so that the pronouncement was made by their highest ranking official. He assured the PNP of the City Government’s prompt response on the said request and looked forward to more Regional Line Agencies (RLAs) to relocate in the city.
To date, out of the 44 RLAs, 40 offices including bureaus have fully transferred and 11 have satellite offices in the city.
Meanwhile, in an interview with C/Supt. Calima during his courtesy visit in the city last January 29, he said that the PNP Chief has discussed the matter with him and instructed him to finalize the details the soonest possible time especially that their office has already the budget for the said transfer. He added that the existing PRO 12 in Tambler, General Santos City will serve as a training center should the move to relocate their office in the city is realized.
