MAYOR PBM GOES SI-OK EXTREME RIVER TREKKING ADVENTURE

City Mayor Peter B. Miguel visited Si-ok falls extreme river trekking adventure site at Sitio Si-ok, Barangay Mabini with his cabinet members on January 17, 2012 to verify the area considered as one of the tourist attractions of the city.

Si-ok falls extreme river trekking adventure site with 11 falls had been exhibited in Metro Manila during the League of Cities of the Philippines (LCP) last November 2011. Earlier, Mayor PBM said that one of the priorities of his administration is to develop tourism spots in the city.

Apart from the said area, the mayor will also pay heed to the improvement of El Gawel site. He planned to make this site as a wild sanctuary and rescue center. El Gawel, on the other hand, was previously one of scenic spots of the city of Koronadal and was temporarily deserted due to landslide on the said locale.

Also by virtue of resolution # 407, s. of 1994, a portion of Sitio Si-ok, Barangay Mabini had been declared as Municipal Park and Wildlife sanctuary.
