More kids, more learning, more fun!


More than just having a fun summer vacation, 2,154 young boys and girls in Koronadal are learning new skills and improving their crafts as they are enrolled in the Mayor Peter B. Miguel Summer Training Festival, April 16-May 25.

This month-long training  festival offers over 30 skills programs and sports disciplines for the kids to choose from and all for free. Now on its 2nd year of enthusiastic implementation, this year’s offering get even more bigger as more courses are made available for wider options.

The Sports Clinic includes variety of court games  like  badminton, combat sports such as karatedo, taekwondo, boxing and combative arnis, athletics, and ball games such as baseball, basketball, football and volleyball. Aside from these familiar sports, some enrolled in chess, frisbee, golf, swimming, motocross, dance sports, dart, sepak takraw and archery.
Voice lessons and musical instrument playing lessons are also offered to those who do not want to go for physical activities.

Seasoned coaches and trainers teach children the basics and skills in speech, photography, art painting and magic tricks.

Classes are being held in the city hall and various other venues around the city. This activity is facilitated by the City Sports Division headed by Mr. Raul Sese, City Sports Coordinator under the close monitoring of the City Mayor himself.

Mayor Peter B. Miguel Summer Training Festival is a brainchild program of the City Mayor which aims to discover and buff up talents of the youth in sports, music and enhance their abilities in speech, basic photography, painting and other life skills. The various  training-workshops also provide the best venue for the youth to develop discipline, sportsmanship and camaraderie through their interaction. Aside from physical well-being, the training will keep away the youth from being idle or from indulging in vices or wrong diversions while staying home this summer.
