PHP.8M FINANCIAL AID FOR 59 PALARO ATHLETES OF THE CITY OF KORONADAL RELEASED

The City Government of Koronadal released allowances for the 59 Palarong Pambansa 2012 athletes of the city amounting to PhP800, 000 at PhP10,000 per athlete/coach. City division Sports Supervisor Napoleon Cumicho of Department of Education (DepEd) Koronadal confirmed receipt of said amount upon the arrival of Mayor Pete...r B. Miguel at Lingayen, Pangasinan on May 8, 2012 where this year’s Palarong Pambansa was held from May 7 to 12.
Mayor PBM’s trip to Lingayen was not solely to hand-over the said financial assistance but to show his personal support to the athletes of the city. Cumicho also said, PBM allotted time to meet the athletes to talk to them and give them inspiration. During the meeting, the mayor emphasized the importance of regular practices and correct execution of routines of the athletes not only during the preparation for events but consistently for the entire year for them to achieve what they have worked hard for and to receive the ‘gold medal’ that every player would dream of.
Meanwhile, Mayor PBM travelled to Pangasinan together with the staff from the offices of the City treasurer and City Budget and proceeded to Metro Manila to follow-up the scholarship grants from the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) for the City for Koronadal.
